How to Find DOT-Qualified SAPs

  An employee who fails a drug test administered by the Department of Transportation (DOT) must go through the Return-To-Duty process with a DOT Clearinghouse SAP in order to be permitted to resume work. The DOT guidelines describe this program. The employees' first task is to locate a SAP that is accredited and qualified by the DOT to assist them in the process.   An SAP: What is it?   Helping DOT-regulated workers return to work following a DOT infraction—such as a failed drug and alcohol test or a refusal to test—is the role of a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP).
